Thrive Education Group are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths Tutor to work with secondary-aged students, including those in mainstream education and students with Special Educational Needs. This hourly based role is a flexible, daytime role designed to fit around the tutor's availability, making it ideal for professionals seeking work-life balance or supplementary income.
Key Responsibilities as a Maths Tutor
- Deliver engaging, tailored maths tuition to secondary school students
- Support both mainstream learners and students with SEND, adapting teaching methods as needed
- Assess student progress and adjust lesson plans to meet individual learning goals
- Build positive, supportive relationships that encourage confidence and academic growth
- Maintain clear communication with parents, carers, and/or education providers where required
Requirements of a Maths Tutor
- Proven experience teaching or tutoring Maths at secondary level
- Strong understanding of the UK Maths curriculum
- Experience working with SEND students is highly desirable
- Ability to differentiate instruction to suit a range of abilities
- Patient, adaptable, and passionate about education
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. degree in Maths or related field, teaching qualification) are preferred but not essential with strong experience
