Workshop Technician in Frome

Thrive Group are delighted to be working with an established and well-respected business in Westbury, who are looking to appoint a hands-on Workshop Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.   This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys working with their hands and has a genuine interest in machinery, vehicles or engineering.   You don't need to come from an agricultural background. Experience working with cars, vans, HGVs, plant machinery or other mechanical equipment would be equally relevant. Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a practical, hands-on approach.   What you'll be doing Working as part of an experienced workshop team, you will assist with the servicing, maintenance, inspection and repair of a range of agricultural machinery and equipment. Assisting with the servicing and maintenance of machinery and equipment. Carrying out general mechanical repairs and maintenance. Using a range of hand tools, workshop tools and equipment. Helping to identify mechanical faults and carry out repairs. Preparing machinery and equipment for service and inspection. Keeping the workshop clean, tidy and organised. Working alongside experienced engineers and technicians. Learning new skills and developing your mechanical knowledge. What we're looking for A mechanically minded individual who enjoys practical, hands-on work. Previous experience in a workshop, garage, vehicle maintenance or mechanical environment. Experience working on cars, vans, HGVs, plant or agricultural machinery would be beneficial. Confident using hand tools and basic workshop equipment. NVQ qualifications in Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Plant Maintenance or a similar discipline would be advantageous. A willingness to learn, take direction and develop new skills. A reliable, positive and hardworking attitude. Someone who enjoys being part of a team and takes pride in doing a good job.
