Thrive Group are delighted to be working with our client in Shepton Mallet who is actively looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

What you will be doing:

  • Working in a fast-paced FMCG factory environment, we are seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to help keep our production running efficiently and reliably and support growth of the engineering team.
  • Diagnose and repair production and process equipment across all sites.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance including wiring, fault finding, and system repairs.
  • Work with PLCs, inverters, heating elements, servo motors, contactors, overloads, sensors (inductive, reed, proximity), and more.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, shafts, tensioners, bearings, etc.
  • Maintain a range of equipment including high-speed packing machines, fillers, pasteurisers, printers, boxing machines, and inspection systems.
  • Record breakdowns and maintenance activities clearly and accurately.
  • Execute and improve pre-planned maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime and support OEE targets.
  • Contribute to ongoing performance improvements and engineering projects.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Fully qualified maintenance engineer (ideally time-served, with City & Guilds).
