Thrive Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a large, well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Swindon, which is looking to appoint a full-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) from the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.

About the School:

This local authority-maintained SEN school is known for its collaborative, supportive, and inclusive ethos. Staff here are truly valued, and the school takes pride in investing in its people, offering excellent professional development opportunities and a strong sense of community.

The successful HLTA will join the Primary Division, working across Key Stages 1 & 2, and will be expected to support multiple classes as and where required. This is an ideal role for someone flexible, resilient, and passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive.

The school is committed to offering permanent contracts where the placement proves to be the right fit for both the staff member and the school.

Please note: This is a full-time position and unfortunately, job shares cannot be considered.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Delivering planned learning activities and interventions across KS1 and KS2

  • Providing classroom support in a variety of classes within the primary phase

  • Supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs

  • Contributing to a nurturing and structured learning environment

  • Working closely with class teachers and other support staff
