Thrive is an award-winning youth employability service located in the City Centre where support workers, social workers, youth workers etc. can meet the young people they support in a safe and welcoming coffee shop environment. Young people attending Thrive can access laptops along with information about education and career pathways. Young people aged 18-24 can choose to become a Thrive member and attend Thrive as an alternative to their local Job Centre. Once a Thrive member, our team provide intensive job search support whilst connecting the young people with specialist services/support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, warm and welcoming environment where adults can meet the young people they care for.
- Promote Thrive across partner organisations, offering our safe space as a free resource to partners who work with young people.
- Support young people by connecting them to wrap-around support services.
- Provide information about careers for young people aged 16–24 in receipt of Universal Credit.
- Offer intensive job search support to secure employment opportunities for young people in receipt of Universal Credit.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly organised, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to lead the delivery of services at Thrive. The role of Service Operational Lead is to ensure the smooth delivery of employability services and information sessions to young people across the Liverpool City Region. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Liverpool.
Delivery:
- You will be responsible for the coordination and planning of employability and information sessions for young people attending Thrive.
- Working alongside work coaches and our relationship manager, you will create an engaging and meaningful timetable of events that cover a variety of topics which impact young people’s lives.
- You will also provide one-to-one job search support to young people attending Thrive.
Front of House:
- In addition to the timetable and employability support, you will be responsible for the line management of our coffee shop host, ensuring coffee shop operations run smoothly.
Reporting / Managerial Administration:
- You will be a point of contact for funding partners and responsible for completing monthly statistics and reporting.
- You will also be responsible for maintaining the team records, such as annual leave and the recording of any absence.
- Your role will also include reviewing policies on a regular basis, ensuring relevant policies are in place and up to date.

Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, program management, and organisational skills.
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in mentoring, motivating, and supporting young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to create innovative solutions.
- Familiarity with employment challenges faced by care-experienced and socially excluded youth is a plus.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic setting.
- Prior experience or a strong understanding of youth careers services is beneficial.
