Are you a teacher looking for a role without class responsibility or a Teaching Assistant with experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage or relevant transferable experience? Thrive at Five, together with the Galileo Multi Academy Trust are seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant – focusing on Communication and Language to join our team.

Location: This role is school based across the Thrive at Five wards of South Bank, Grangetown, Eston, Kirkleatham and Dormanstown in Redcar and Cleveland in partnership with Galileo Multi Academy Trust.

Employment Type: Fixed term for two years; term time.

Purpose of the Role: Thrive at Five, in partnership with Galileo Multi Academy Trust are looking to recruit three highly motivated, experienced early years practitioners to work as part of an exciting new project in Redcar and Cleveland. The role will be seconded to and managed by Thrive at Five. The role may be suitable for teachers looking for a role without class responsibility or Teaching Assistants with experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage or relevant transferable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating, monitoring and supporting the delivery of evidence-based interventions in primary schools.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the children’s progress and reporting back to schools and Thrive at Five.
  • Supporting the delivery of communication and language programmes, ensuring activities are implemented consistently and to a high standard.
  • Supporting local schools, early years settings and staff with delivering intervention programmes such as Wellcomm and Early Talk Boost.
  • Promoting approaches that help parents and carers support communication, language, learning and school readiness at home.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the project, keeping detailed records and collating data to inform the evaluation process.
  • Confidently highlighting any issues and working with Thrive at Five and the project schools to find dynamic proven solutions.

About You: We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • An Early Years/Teaching Assistant qualification or extensive relevant experience working with children in the EYFS.
  • A strong understanding of early childhood development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and confidently with different groups of people.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Highly effective time management skills.
