SUMMARY:Responsible for setting up and operating one or more Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines or manual woodworking machines such as saws and edge banders. Operate the Bonding machines to glue pieces of wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces. Working to a high standard of quality in the finishing of laminate and veneer panels and with aluminum extrusions completing drilling and routing. Responsible for daily preventative maintenance including May cleaning and lubricating the equipment and replacing parts, as necessary. An understanding of a high standard required in the finishing of the laminate and veneer panels also working with aluminum extrusions drilling and routing as well as performing housekeeping and preventative maintenance. This position works in a team environment. Meeting all company and departmental standards and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Scheduling machining tasks in the most efficient wayChoosing the right tools for each stage of the machining processCarrying out quality assurance on finished piecesFollow and promote safe work practicesReport all hazards, unsafe acts, and conditions immediately to your managerMaintain good housekeeping practices and always follow health and safety protocolsWear proper PPE as requiredAbility to work in a very physically active roleProvide ad hoc support to the factory teams when requiredParticipate and submit new and improved work methods in alignment with the Suggested Method Improvement programComplete other duties as assignedStrong decision-making skillsMeeting all company and departmental standards and guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:GCSEs or equivalent required in Maths and EnglishA satisfactory level of written and spoken English.2 years Experience working within a manufacturing environmentDesirable:Level 1 Certificate in Performing Engineering OperationsLevel 1 Certificate in Engineering and ManufacturingLevel 2 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering

EDUCATION AND SKILLS/OR EXPERIENCE:Good manual dexterityHave a good eye for detail and the ability to provide high quality work with high accuracyBe able to multitask, problem-solve and can work towards deadlinesBe able to work as part of a team and work alone to complete tasksValid Driving UK Licence (ideally but not essential)Demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasmStrong people skills and the ability to work effectively and in a team environment with all internal customersAdaptable and flexible and open to changeDesirableValid Driving UK Licence (ideally but not essential)FLT license

LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings ,

safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to communicate clearly and effectively to management and team members.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to conduct ongoing manual work, and upon occasions lift goods up to 25kg. Required to read and visually observe with close vision, distance vision and colour vision.
