About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Construction Associate or Senior Associate to work closely with our construction partner as part of our inclusive and sociable Real Estate team. You’ll benefit from plenty of client facing construction work right from the start, and 1:1 guidance and supervision from partners in the team, with the opportunity to shape your professional development and a clear progression pathway.
This is an exciting time to join us, with the recent addition of three new Real Estate development Partners and ambitions to grow our clean energy work pipeline. As part of the construction team, you’ll have a varied caseload, including:
- working closely with mid-sized developers, contractors, consultants and funders on a range of commercial development, mixed use, residential schemes, real estate finance work, affordable housing strategic land projects
- involvement with drafting and negotiating JCT and NEC forms of contract and drafting bespoke schedules of amendments
- drafting and negotiating professional consultant appointments and collateral warranties and bonds/guarantees and other bespoke construction contracts
- opportunities to support the wider real estate team and also construction dispute resolution
Whilst this role is based in our Bristol office, there will be the opportunity for you to work with other fee earners based at our other offices. If required, we’re happy for you to work flexibly between Bristol, Bath and Swindon office.
About you
We’re extremely proud of the relationship we’ve built with our clients and referrers, being recognised as their trusted legal partner. It’s important to us that you have the right blend of skills to service their needs and develop new relationships:
- Ideally 4+ years PQE with expertise in non-contentious construction matters
- Good working knowledge of construction law and dispute resolution processes
- Experience of clean and renewable energy projects would be beneficial
- Excellent client relationship management skills
- Happy to work autonomously when required
- Proactive and keen to get involved and learn
