Working Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri

What you’ll do

Within the Network Engineering Portfolio team, you will deliver projects which will transform the network engineering landscape. Our portfolios span Transport, OSS and Core networks with projects ranging from delivering new state‑of‑the‑art technologies, introducing new services, retiring legacy products, and transforming the network to best‑in‑class. Projects will be complex with variable risk and will require diligent stakeholder management to support our business goals. You’ll be working with internal Networks colleagues, wider teams within VodafoneThree and key suppliers to achieve the agreed outcome. All projects are to be delivered in accordance with the agreed governance framework to the agreed time, cost and quality and realise the expected benefits.

Be responsible for defining, documenting, and managing the project scope and deliverables, working collaboratively with delivery partners (internal/external) to secure resources, set supplier scope and agree supplier delivery targets. Ensure the project is established, executed and closed following standard company governance. Manage handover of deliverables to operations ensuring skills and knowledge transfer. At all times ensure there is an effective risk mitigation and issue management process in place. Clarify the skill requirements of a project and build a team capable of managing that project. Define clear roles & responsibilities and reporting relationships for stakeholders on the project and provide performance feedback. Manage delivery scope and resolve deviation. Be responsible for documentation of outputs, analysis and tools used in project activity. In accordance with portfolio governance and assurance, provide accurate and timely communication and reporting to the relevant stakeholders, escalating where required. Responsible for the project budget and forecasting, with strict adherence to financial targets.

Who you are

  • An understanding of networks, with experience of delivery in Core, OSS or Transport.
  • Strong project governance and appropriate use of control mechanisms to ensure excellent customer outcomes.
  • Defines scope, business objectives, requirements and deliverables that stakeholders expect.
  • Creates WBS dictionary containing detailed deliverables, activity and scheduling information.
  • Stakeholder management and management of both direct and indirect teams including 3rd‑party suppliers.
  • Professional credentials such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 Practitioner are desirable.
