Job Description:

VodafoneThree is the UK’s fastest growing network operator, currently undergoing transformational change following the merger. We will be looking for you to help a team of 6 who are responsible for group and statutory financial reporting, balance sheet management reporting, and forecasting. You will be expected to support in providing technical advice on implications of different accounting treatments under IFRS and FRS 101. You should have an understanding of key audit issues across the business and coordinate with auditors to address their concerns. This is an exciting time to join the team as we navigate the integration of two major telecommunications businesses, implement enhanced control frameworks, and establish new reporting lines.

You will help and assist in financial reporting, balance sheet control, audit coordination, technical accounting advisory, and finance policies and procedures. Day-to-day, you will take ownership of meeting deadlines and consistently delivering work to a high standard. You thrive in a business-facing environment and are confident managing multiple stakeholders across the organisation. You will communicate verbally and in written forms with senior management and external advisors at different levels of seniority, and build lasting relationships. You are a person who welcomes the chance to build on the skills gained in accountancy practice and who values exposure to senior finance leaders, including the Head of Reporting, Director of Finance, and CFO.

You will be responsible for:

  • SOX Implementation – Key responsibility for the implementation of SOX controls across financial reporting. This will involve working with colleagues to document, test, and embed controls across key financial reporting processes.
  • Statutory Accounts (FRS 101 Reporting) – Support the preparation and delivery of statutory accounts for all UK companies including 3 UK (main operating company), Holding, ID Mobile, and UKB. Support the preparation of the Mergeco consolidated accounts, working closely with colleagues across the newly combined organisation.
  • Audit Coordination and Management Support – Managing external audit relationships from deliverables to audit issues, from planning meetings to clearance. This role will ensure that we deliver a successful (smooth and no-surprise) audit at half-year, hard close, and year end.
  • Balance Sheet and Finance Manual – The team is responsible for balance sheet (RAG) reviews and the finance manual. You will play a key part in setting the plan, supporting the team, and ensuring that the process goes well and objectives are delivered on time.
  • Projects Support – Support key integration projects as required, working collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA), from a public practice background
  • Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101
  • Previous experience in identifying and dealing with audit and accounting issues
  • Delivery focused and able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment with analytical thinking
  • Strong organisational and collaboration skills to coordinate activities across various teams

We encourage you to apply if your experience doesn’t align exactly with every part of the job description. We are passionate about inclusion for all and creating a workplace where everyone can thrive, whatever their personal or professional background.

What we offer:

We care about our people’s success by offering great pay, bonuses, up to 28 days off plus bank holidays, and paid time for charity work. You can personalise our benefits for you and your family, like discounts, vouchers, a pension plan and more. We help with your career through our learning tools and top-notch parental leave policies.
