About the Role
My client is starting to deliver nationwide engineering and maintenance services for electrical equipment typically in retail locations across the UK. They are hiring a Commercial & Business Development Manager to lead contracts, pricing, client relationships and commercial growth. This role blends commercial strategy with operational understanding — ensuring contracts are profitable and deliverable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and negotiate service contracts, SLAs, pricing models, and renewals
- Manage key accounts, and help drive business development, whilst delivering strong client satisfaction reviews
- Build margin and cost‑to‑serve models aligned with operational realities
- Partner with operations to ensure commercial commitments match engineer capacity, travel time, and failure rates
- Prepare proposals, tenders, and commercial presentations for new and existing clients
Skills & Experience
- Commercial experience in field engineering, FM, logistics, or technical services
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Business development and B2B account management background
- Understanding of operational challenges in distributed asset maintenance
- Comfortable working in a fast‑moving start‑up environment
Location & Travel
UK‑based, flexible, with occasional travel to client sites and operational locations.
