We are looking for a self-motivated and talented graduate electrical engineer to join our team of professional electrical engineers located in Manchester. You will have a passion for engineering with a keen interest in power systems, low carbon technologies and renewable generation. You will be based at our modern office location in Manchester City Centre, with opportunities for flexible home working on occasions. There will also be opportunities to visit our clients and sites throughout the UK for particular projects.

You will be supporting our engineers to develop and deliver value-added solutions that help our clients improve the performance of their electricity networks as well as enabling the connection of modern low carbon technologies. The role will also involve providing engineering support to our consultants on a range of diverse and exciting projects in a supportive environment. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills as a young engineer across various disciplines and projects from our talented and friendly team of professional engineers.

Requirements:

  • Have recently obtained or be predicted to obtain a BEng (Hons) or MEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (2:1 or better).
  • Have a keen interest in power engineering and a desire to work in the field of electrical distribution networks, facilitating the connection of low carbon technologies to public electricity systems.
  • Carry out power quality assessments of low carbon technologies, conduct network planning studies, specify power system assets, and support the development of innovative solutions that will help achieve net zero electricity networks.
  • Be IT literate and confident in using various types of software applications.
  • Have excellent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Preferably hold a full UK driving licence.

Your first year will involve following a structured training plan and shadowing various engineers in our team working across different aspects of electricity networks. Your second year will be focused on developing your competence in your chosen technical fields all under a designated mentor.

The role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to make a real impact, to develop themselves and work supportively within our close professional team to become an expert in their chosen field and to achieve Chartered Engineer status.
