Head of Portfolio & Planning London, UK £Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll run the company planning and goal-setting cycle end to end, translating company priorities into clear, measurable objectives across teams and creating the operating rhythm that keeps progress visible throughout the year. You’ll maintain a single, trusted view of significant initiatives across the business, including ownership, progress, dependencies, risks, and alignment to company goals. You’ll design and run the process through which new initiatives enter the business, making capacity, dependencies, and trade-offs explicit before work starts. You’ll also own the company’s executive operating cadence, including business reviews, executive meetings, and the planning and performance content that feeds into board discussions. This is not a role that runs individual projects. Your responsibility is to build and operate the system that helps the company choose the right work, understand how it is progressing, and increase the percentage of important initiatives that actually get completed. 10+ years of experience across Portfolio Management, Enterprise PMO, Programme Management, Strategy & Operations, or related roles in complex, fast-moving organisations ~ Proven experience building and owning company or group-level portfolio management systems, rather than simply maintaining existing project tracking processes ~ Experience running company-wide planning, goal-setting, or OKR cycles end to end, from objective design and cascade through to progress reporting and review ~ Strong analytical judgement, with the ability to distinguish between poor execution, unrealistic planning, and priorities that have changed ~ Experience identifying cross-functional dependencies, risks, and duplication across multiple teams or business areas ~ Experience designing and running effective executive operating cadences, including business reviews, planning sessions, and decision forums ~ Comfortable building systems and processes from an incomplete starting point in a fast-changing organisation You naturally look across the business rather than within individual functions.
