As QHSE Manager, you will provide leadership across all aspects of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements whilst embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

You will be responsible for maintaining our ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System, leading business improvement initiatives, managing a small quality team, and providing expert guidance to colleagues, clients, suppliers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the company’s QHSE strategy.
  • Champion a positive and proactive safety culture across the business.
  • Maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and support the management of business risks and opportunities.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives across operations, projects and the supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation, industry standards and best practice.
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on QHSE performance metrics.
  • Deliver training on quality, health, safety and environmental topics.
  • Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure safe and compliant delivery.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and regulatory authorities on QHSE matters.
  • Ensure project quality documentation, including Material Record Books, is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Develop quality plans, ITPs and associated project documentation.
  • Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across projects and operations.
  • Manage and develop the Quality team, including performance management, coaching and succession planning.

Competence Requirements

We’re looking for a confident leader with a strong quality and safety background gained within engineering, manufacturing, fabrication or a similar industrial environment.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in a QHSE, Quality Management or HSE leadership role.
  • Experience within heavy engineering, manufacturing, assembly or project-based environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
  • Practical experience of health, safety and environmental management.
  • Experience driving quality improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and drive improvement actions.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and people management capability.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and influence across all levels of the organisation.

Qualifications

Essential

  • HNC in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.

Desirable

  • CQI membership or recognised Quality qualification.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other advanced continuous improvement methodologies.
  • NEBOSH Diploma.
