The Senior Project Controller is responsible for providing oversight of project controls for the operations business. This role focuses on detailed cost management, risk assessment, and performance reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery while interfacing effectively with finance and other internal business functions. This role will also support the development of systems, processes and procedures to improve the business services function.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with relevant businesses and departments to ensure the gathering and collating of accurate project records and projections.
- Prepare and publish project budgets and re-forecasts, to meet internal and client requirements.
- Produce detailed performance reports and dashboards for senior management and clients.
- Maintain digital applications/tools ensuring accuracy of data.
- Understand and implement best practice project control principles and specified company procedures.
- Understand project specific remuneration terms and conditions, reporting requirements and client specific invoice format requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Responsible for the set-up of projects and activities within project management systems.
- Compile and analyse progress reports for each project.
- Accountable for the maintenance of accurate data in company ERP application, including CTRs, purchase orders, purchase invoices, sales invoices and project reports.
- Analyse timewriting and produce reports highlighting relevant data, variances and actionable insights.
- Ensure that all work is carried out safely in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

Competence Requirements
- ECITB Certificate in Project Controls is desirable.
- Formal qualification at a minimum of HNC level in Business or technical qualification is desirable.
- Extensive experience in use and implementation of procurement systems, including development and deployment of process improvements across business streams is essential.
- Proven experience in project controls or project management within the energy sector, ideally with exposure to decommissioning or offshore projects is essential.
Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex project data and identify emerging issues are essential.
- Experience of working in a service company environment within the UK Oil and Gas sector, including duty-holder contracting models, is desirable.
- Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously is essential.
- Strong computer literacy, with a focus on MS Office Packages including Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Word, Visio. Experience in use and deployment of CMMS and ERP systems such as Maximo and ERP applications is essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities is essential.
