Job Description

We're creating something special. We are joining forces to create the biggest mobile network provider in the UK. Through our collective strengths and talents, we will transform customers' experience and create a best-in-class network for coverage, connectivity, and reliability, delivering greater value and more choice for the nation than ever before.

This role sits in the Consumer Business Revenue & Margin team - a team of 22 responsible for some of the most complex accounting areas at Three and for ensuring that we accurately record c.£2.5bn of annual revenues. This role reports to the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager.

You will be responsible for a wide variety of month-end journal calculations, postings and associated balance-sheet reconciliations covering revenues and margin, including (but not limited to) the Smarty brand, B2B accounts, supply chain costs, LOB allocations. You will also support your line manager with ad hoc month-end revenues and margin tasks and reports.

You will be responsible for supporting the team by collecting the required SOX compliance evidence as directed by your line manager. You will support your line manager, working with counterparts in the VFUK team, to compare and contrast accounting policies and processes, identifying best practice and change requirements to implement such practices.

What you'll do

  • Revenue and margin GL accounting: Monthly revenue and margin journals - calculation and posting in Oracle, including obtaining all required SOX evidence and sign offs.
  • Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, identification of risks and opportunities, clearance of reconciling differences and timely submission into Cadency BS control system.
  • Ensure all SOX control evidence is collated and submitted - support to the team as directed by your line manager.

Qualifications

Who you are

  • Part-qualified Accountant / QBE
  • Excellent general accounting experience, including, but not limited to accruals, prepayments, month-end reporting, forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Team player - must be able to build strong working relationships within the team and be willing to support the team with ad hoc requirements.
  • Proactive in exploring better processes and smarter work practices, delivery focused and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Oracle.

Nice to have

  • Mobile telecommunication industry experience advantageous.
  • SAP experience
  • Process integration experience
