An established metal fabrication and manufacturing company in County Durham is recruiting a Setter Operator to join their production team. As Setter Operator, you will set, programme and operate punch and press machinery, working to design specifications and quality standards. This is a hands-on Setter Operator position within a busy production environment, working closely with your Team Leader to hit agreed targets.
What you'll be doing:
- Setting, programming and operating punch and press machinery
- Working to engineering drawings and required quality standards
- Meeting individual and team production targets in line with agreed dates
- Carrying out TPM on machinery and liaising with leadership on repairs
- Completing safety checks and documentation in line with company standards
- Contributing ideas on new working methods and manufacturing practices
- Supporting other production areas as required
- Maintaining a safe, tidy working environment in line with 5S principles
What we're looking for:
- NVQ Level 2 in Machine Operations, or equivalent practical experience
- Over three years in a relevant industry, operating punch and press machinery
- Good attention to detail and a solid grasp of maths and engineering drawings
- Experience of Lean working practices
- A flexible, team-focused approach
