An established metal fabrication and manufacturing company in County Durham is looking for an Operator to join their production team. This Operator role involves running punch and press machinery to design specifications and quality standards, working under the guidance of the Team Leader. It is a hands-on Operator position suited to someone who enjoys practical, varied production work.

What you'll be doing:

  • Operating punch and press machinery in line with design specifications
  • Assisting in evaluating engineering drawings against required specifications
  • Meeting individual and team targets in line with agreed dates
  • Completing safety checks and required documentation
  • Carrying out TPM and liaising with leadership on repairs or servicing
  • Transferring material around the factory as required
  • Getting involved in new working methods and process improvements
  • Following 5S and wider health and safety standards

What we're looking for:

  • Over three years in a relevant industry, competent operating punch and press machinery
  • Good attention to detail and a solid grasp of maths and engineering drawings
  • Experience of Lean working practices
  • A flexible, team-focused approach and a practical, solutions-minded attitude
