An established metal fabrication and manufacturing company in County Durham is looking to add a Manufacturing / Process Support specialist to their engineering and production team. This Manufacturing / Process Support role sits between engineering and production, supporting both departments to keep the factory running efficiently. You will programme and operate machinery including Salvagnini S4, Trumpf punches and Trubend press brake equipment, and play a hands-on role in reducing downtime and improving workflow.
What you'll be doing:
- Programming machinery to support engineering and production targets
- Operating machinery to assist production when required
- Carrying out TPM schedules and 1st and 2nd line fault finding
- Liaising with suppliers to keep machine spares available and machines running
- Reviewing and improving existing processes and workflows
- Supporting wider improvement activity across the site
- Following safe systems of work, PPE requirements and risk assessment procedures
- Reporting accidents and dangerous occurrences where required
What we're looking for:
- Practical, hands-on experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Trumpf punches, Salvagnini S4 and TPM procedures
- Understanding of machine breakdown procedures and press brake knowledge is an advantage, though not essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Comfortable working flexibly across different areas of the shop floor
