A County Durham manufacturer, supplying fabricated metal products to the construction industry, is looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join their team. Reporting to the Team Leader, the Welder / Fabricator will construct a variety of metal structures through welding, fitting and assembly, working to design specifications and quality standards throughout. This role suits someone with solid, current welding experience across multiple methods.

Key responsibilities:

  • Welding, fitting and assembling fabricated structures to specification
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and applying required standards
  • Agreeing and meeting production targets with the leadership team
  • Completing safety checks and documentation accurately
  • Carrying out welding and fabrication tasks using various equipment
  • Moving material around the factory as needed
  • Getting involved in process and working method improvements
  • Keeping the work area safe and organised in line with 5S

What you'll bring:

  • Level 3 Fabrication and Welding Engineering qualification as a minimum, coded certification preferred
  • At least three years' relevant industry experience in Mig, Tig and heat welding
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence with maths and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
  • A flexible, can do approach to teamwork

As a Welder / Fabricator, you should be able to weld to specification with minimal supervision, as extensive training is not available for this position. Also, the employer is UNABLE to offer sponsorship, so applicants must have full right to work within the UK.
