We are now looking for a Housing Development Officer to join our team on a part-time basis, working 22.5 hours per week for a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2028.

This is an exciting opportunity for a housing professional with policy or strategy knowledge to join our forward-thinking organisation. In this highly rewarding role, you will have the chance to make a difference to everyday people, helping drive the delivery of affordable homes that support thriving, sustainable communities.
As a Housing Development Officer, you will support the delivery of affordable housing initiatives across our area. Working closely with developers, planners, registered providers and internal teams, you will support affordable housing schemes from feasibility through to completion. A key element of your role will be to ensure developments provide the right mix of homes in line with local housing requirements and planning policies.
You will also contribute to the development of key housing strategies, including our Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, helping to shape our approach to meeting current and future housing demand. You will analyse housing data to support planning and performance monitoring and assist with the implementation of the Local Investment Plan.
To be considered as the Housing Development Officer, you will need:
- Experience drafting policy and/or corporate strategy
- Broad knowledge of national, regional and local housing issues
- An understanding of affordable housing delivery
- The ability to analyse and interpret housing data effectively
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own transport
