We are now looking for a Housing Development Officer to join our team on a part-time basis, working 22.5 hours per week for a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2028.

The Role
As a Housing Development Officer, you will support the delivery of affordable housing initiatives across our area. Working closely with developers, planners, registered providers and internal teams, you will support affordable housing schemes from feasibility through to completion. A key element of your role will be to ensure developments provide the right mix of homes in line with local housing requirements and planning policies. You will also contribute to the development of key housing strategies, including our Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, helping to shape our approach to meeting current and future housing demand. In doing so, you will ensure all activities are fully compliant with relevant legislation and statutory obligations.
Additionally, you will:
- Build strong relationships with Registered Providers and external stakeholders
- Support consultation and resident engagement activities
- Co-ordinate Registered Provider Forums
- Analyse housing data to support planning and performance monitoring
- Assist with the implementation of the Local Investment Plan
About You
To be considered as the Housing Development Officer, you will need:
- Experience drafting policy and/or corporate strategy
- Experience of effective partnership working and stakeholder management
- Broad knowledge of national, regional and local housing issues
- An understanding of affordable housing delivery
- The ability to analyse and interpret housing data effectively
- Strong communication skills across a range of audiences and platforms
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Strong strategic thinking skills
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own transport
