The district is a mixture of beautiful countryside, villages and small towns. The area has a diverse range of sectors and businesses and is a centre for the film industry with Warner Brothers at Leavesden forming part of a studio cluster along with Elstree and Pinewood at a short drive away.

We are now looking for two Gardeners to join us at West Herts Crematorium on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity for qualified grounds maintenance or horticultural professionals with a sensitive and customer-focused attitude to join our dedicated team at the West Herts Crematorium. Working amidst scenic landscapes, you'll enjoy the chance to further develop your horticultural expertise while helping maintain meaningful spaces that provide comfort and reflection for those visiting during difficult times.

As a Gardener, you will provide a high-quality horticultural maintenance service across West Herts Crematorium, including the Garden of Remembrance and the Floral Terrace. Supporting the Gardening Team Leader, you will maintain lawns, flower beds, hedging and trees, while ensuring pathways and car parks are kept clear of litter and debris.

To be considered as a Gardener, you will need:

  • General grounds maintenance and horticultural experience
  • A gardening or horticultural qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and public holidays on a rota basis
  • A certificate in the spraying of chemicals, or the willingness to undertake the qualification
