Three Business Partners is supporting a growing UK apprenticeships provider that is strengthening its delivery provision and is now looking to appoint a Senior Apprenticeships Assessor. This role would suit an experienced assessor or tutor with a strong understanding of the learning and training world, particularly within apprenticeships, who is motivated by high-quality delivery, ownership, and contributing to the development of a provision over time. Experience or specialist knowledge within Business Administration apprenticeships would be a significant advantage, but the role is intentionally framed more broadly to attract strong apprenticeship professionals with the right judgement, mindset, and delivery credibility.
You will deliver and assess apprenticeship standards, managing a caseload of learners and supporting them through to timely progress and completion. The role involves:
- Conducting reviews, assessments, and teaching sessions on a one-to-one and group basis
- Working confidently within ESFA funding rules and off-the-job training requirements
- A strong emphasis is placed on quality, learner experience, and compliance within a funded training environment
- Contributing to the ongoing development of curriculum resources, supporting standardisation and quality activity, and acting as a dependable, experienced presence within the delivery team
While the role spans apprenticeships more broadly, there is a particular emphasis on Business Administration provision. Candidates who can demonstrate a strong understanding of how Business Administration apprenticeships operate in practice, including the realities of delivery, assessment, learner progression, and EPA preparation, will be at a clear advantage.
This role is not designed to be delivery-only long term, but it is firmly delivery-led at the outset. Initially, the focus is on high-quality delivery and embedding into the provision. As the programme grows, there is scope for increased responsibility, including contributing more formally to curriculum development, supporting other assessors or tutors, and stepping into a lead-from-delivery position. Progression will be based on performance, capability, and professional judgement, rather than time served or job title. Over time, this role offers a clear management pathway for individuals who demonstrate strong delivery credibility and appetite for wider responsibility.
This opportunity may suit candidates who currently hold, or have previously held, job titles such as Apprenticeship Assessor, Tutor/Assessor, Apprenticeship Tutor, Trainer/Assessor, Apprenticeship Coach, Skills Tutor, Lead Tutor, Lead Assessor, Curriculum Lead, or Apprenticeships Manager. However, this role remains firmly delivery-focused. Candidates must be comfortable operating in a hands-on capacity, delivering and assessing apprenticeships themselves rather than stepping away into purely managerial or oversight roles. Individuals who enjoy remaining close to learners, curriculum, and day-to-day delivery, while contributing experience and leadership through practice rather than hierarchy, are likely to be a strong fit.
Essential requirements
- Applicants must hold a recognised Assessor qualification (D32/D33, A1, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent) and a teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, AET, CET or higher)
- You will have experience delivering and assessing apprenticeship standards and a solid understanding of the learning and training environment, including funding rules, off-the-job training requirements, and quality expectations
- Strong organisational skills, professionalism, and confidence working with learners and employers are essential
Desirable experience
- Experience or specialist knowledge within Business Administration apprenticeships would be highly beneficial.
- Exposure to curriculum development, standardisation activity, or supporting other tutors or assessors would also be advantageous.
Package
The salary for this role is £30,000-£35,000, dependent on experience and background. This is a hybrid role with a West Midlands base. There is an expectation of being in the office a few days per week initially, with flexibility increasing over time, typically to two days per week. Most delivery is home-based, with occasional, planned travel for learner observations across locations such as Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, and London. This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation where quality delivery, pragmatism, and a genuine understanding of the training world are valued.
