Three Bridges Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected organisation to recruit a Deputy Director of Finance on an initial six-month fixed-term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the senior finance leadership team during an exciting period of organisational development.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will provide visible leadership to an established finance function, helping to support and develop the team while strengthening financial planning, reporting and decision-making across the organisation.
This role would suit an experienced finance leader who enjoys combining strategic thinking with practical leadership and is passionate about developing people.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the finance function while supporting the wider organisation through an important period of change.

- The role of Deputy Director of Finance will give you the opportunity to:
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development for a well-established finance team
- Support the Director of Finance in delivering the organisation's financial strategy
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and management reporting processes
- Develop financial models and long-term forecasting to support strategic decision-making
- Present financial information and insight to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders
- Oversee management accounts, financial controls and statutory reporting
- Support business partnering across the organisation, providing commercially focused financial advice
- Lead continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting
- Oversee treasury, cash flow, procurement and payroll functions
- Support audit, risk management and regulatory compliance activities
- Deputise for the Director of Finance when required
- Help build a more forward-looking, collaborative and enabling finance function

As Deputy Director of Finance, you will likely possess the following
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant experience leading and developing finance teams
- Strong financial planning, forecasting and modelling experience
- Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders or boards
- Broad finance leadership experience covering management accounts, financial controls and reporting
- Strong analytical and commercial skills
- Experience leading teams through change and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong leadership style that combines visibility, collaboration and pragmatism
- Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and build credibility quickly
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
Experience within education or the public sector would be welcomed but is not essential.
