- The role of Legal Cashier will give you the opportunity to be involved with:
- Processing and allocating client and office account receipts
- Reviewing and setting up electronic payments including CHAPS, BACS, Faster Payments and international transfers
- Ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering procedures prior to payment processing
- Managing client and office account transactions including payments, receipts, transfers and bill settlements
- Administering designated client bank accounts and related transactions
- Reviewing cheque requests and ensuring compliance with internal authorisation procedures
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies and outstanding items
- Supporting daily bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Working closely with partners, fee earners and operational teams on client and firm transactions
- Processing banking activities including cash and cheque deposits
- Calculating and processing client account interest where required
- Maintaining accurate electronic records for audit and regulatory purposes
- Supporting annual audit processes
- Contributing to process improvements and maintaining procedural documentation
- Assisting with ad hoc finance and cashiering duties as required

As a Legal Cashier, you will ideally possess the following
- Previous experience in a Legal Cashier or Cashroom role
- Strong understanding of client and office account transactions
- Knowledge of legal accounting regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience processing high-volume financial transactions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
- Comfortable working with financial systems and banking platforms
- Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
