Three Bridges Recruitment is working with an established Scottish business in Stirling looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its team on a part-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong payroll knowledge who wants to reduce their hours without stepping away from meaningful, technical payroll work.
Why work here?
This is a long-established, family-owned business with a supportive, close-knit team and a genuinely flexible approach to part-time hours.
You’ll benefit from:
- Salary around £41,500 FTE / pro rata, with flexibility for the right person
- 35 days’ annual leave
- 10% employer pension contribution
- BUPA private healthcare
- Company sick pay – up to six months at full pay
- Flexitime
- Employee Assistance Programme
- A friendly and supportive working environment
The role is 20–25 hours across Monday to Friday. While it is office-based, there is flexibility around start and finish times, making it particularly well suited to someone looking for greater balance alongside an experienced-level payroll role.
Job
As Payroll Specialist, you’ll work alongside an experienced colleague and support payroll for around 620 employees across weekly and monthly payrolls.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Weekly and monthly payroll processing
- HMRC compliance and statutory submissions
- Pension administration
- Payroll reconciliations and controls
- Resolving employee queries and payroll calculations
- Payroll reporting
- Providing cover across the weekly payroll
- Supporting some straightforward HR administration
The payroll itself is relatively straightforward. What matters is having the knowledge to understand the legislation behind it, work through calculations confidently and recognise when something doesn’t look right.
You
As Payroll Specialist, you will bring:
- Strong previous payroll experience
- Up-to-date payroll legislation knowledge
- Good knowledge of HMRC requirements and pensions
- Confidence dealing with calculations and payroll queries
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Experience using payroll and HR systems
- A collaborative and approachable working style
A payroll qualification would be useful but isn’t essential. The business is open on sector background.
More important is someone who knows payroll, gets on well with people and will fit comfortably into an established team.
About the Organisation
This is an established, family-owned Scottish business.
Following a period of change, the organisation has a smaller, closely connected central team where Finance, HR and payroll work collaboratively. It is now preparing for its next stage of development, making this an interesting time to join an established business with clear plans for the future.
