We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our busy Accounts team. The role will assist with a range of transaction tasks for both our client and office functionalities. The role holder will maintain the confidentiality of financial and other information when undertaking activities. This is a key position responsible for ensuring full compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules and maintaining accurate financial records for the firm.

The role includes:

  • Monitoring online bank accounts for the allocation of electronic payments
  • Processing client account payments in line with regulatory compliance requirements
  • Daily banking of all incoming client and office cheques and cash payments
  • Checking completion statements
  • Maintaining accurate client ledger records and internal ledger transfers
  • Taking card payments
  • Assisting with internal reporting
  • Responding to internal and external financial queries efficiently

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a legal cashier/finance role within a law firm is preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules would be ideal, but training will be given to the successful candidate to ensure full compliance with industry regulations
  • A positive attitude and calm under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Can prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
