Europe finance manager (Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland)

Thoughtworks is seeking a highly skilled finance manager to support our Global Controllership team.

This role is vital for driving immediate impact across our European entities.

You will be responsible for leading audits, managing complex reporting requirements, and ensuring robust financial compliance.

  • Job responsibilities
  • Audit Leadership: Lead local statutory audits, ensuring audit readiness and managing the completion of financial statements and timely responses to auditor requests.
  • Reporting & Tax Compliance: Oversee timelines for local statutory filings across multiple European entities.
  • Month-End Close: Partner with Europe Controllership and FP&A teams to manage the month-end close process, reviewing work against tight deadlines.
  • Internal Controls: Own key SOX controls and assist in the implementation of robust internal controls to mitigate fraud risk and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with regional finance teams and the India Shared Services Team to ensure accurate reporting.
  • May require adhoc travel to Germany.

  • Experience: 7+ years of professional accounting experience with a strong background in Audit and financial control.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep working knowledge of both US GAAP, IFRS and HGB.
  • Education/Certification: Qualified accountant.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in German and English is required.
  • Mindset: Highly proactive in identifying accounting risks and opportunities and implementing cross-functional solutions.
