As a product designer, you will be the creative force that shapes how AI-powered products look, feel, and behave - from the very first day of engagement through to shipping the product.
Job responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of digital products from ideation, concept, prototype, through to build, working in close collaboration with product strategists, developers and business stakeholders.
- Ensure quality across product touchpoints through consistent and differentiating visual design, accessible design system components, and adherence to best practice UX and interaction design principles.
- Bring AI fluency to design conversational and agentic user interfaces: AI chat, task-oriented assistants, multi-modal experiences, and autonomous agent flows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, developing a shared understanding of user and customer jobs, journeys, and needs through research, testing, and synthesis, ensuring that product design principles continuously evolve to meet these needs.
- Be the primary bridge between design, technology, and business teams, ensuring your vision is seamlessly executed in collaboration with developers and other stakeholders.
- Champion the continuous improvement of design practices by mentoring your team, facilitating knowledge sharing, and running workshops or feedback sessions.
- Actively engage and bring thought leadership and best practices to Thoughtworks and our client’s design practice.
- Translate complex user pain points into innovative design concepts and high-fidelity prototypes that drive product strategy.
- Operate as a strong individual contributor.
Job qualifications
- Rich experience designing digital products and interface solutions from scoping and concept through to scalable delivery.
- Strong foundations in user experience and interaction design principles and heuristics, including an applied understanding of information architecture.
- Exceptional visual design skills with a strong eye for detail in colour, layout, typography, and motion.
- Experience creating programme-wide design guidelines, and collaborating with design and development partners on modular design system components.
- Experience with AI-accelerated design tooling: UX Pilot, Bolt, Mural, Maze, or similar tools that accelerate the path from ideation to testable prototype.
- Familiarity with front-end fundamentals (HTML/CSS, React component structure) sufficient to partner deeply with engineers on implementation fidelity and design token governance.
- Use AI as your ideation partner to generate breadth quickly - generating concept variations, exploring 'what if' scenarios, and accelerating synthesis.
- Comfortable with trial and error, embracing feedback, and using prototyping to explore new ideas.
- Expertise in working closely with business and tech teams to bring real-world design solutions to life.
- Good overall understanding of the various aspects of design discipline that contributes to building impactful products.
- Deep understanding of Middle Eastern market dynamics, including local organizational behaviour and consumer cultural nuances.
- Proven experience in designing for Right-to-Left (RTL) languages and understanding how content is consumed within the local culture.
Professional Skills
- You excel in leading agile, cross-functional teams and confidently overseeing the design and development of product solutions and user interface assets across multiple workstreams.
- Complex, large-scale challenges captivate you and you have the ability to break them down into simple, strategic, and impactful product solutions that drive business outcomes.
- As a seasoned storyteller, you communicate the customer and business value of design to stakeholders and inspire teams with your vision, ensuring your ideas resonate at all levels of the organization.
- Strong workshop facilitation skills - able to run Define workshops, opportunity validation sessions, and concept generation activities that generate client alignment and forward momentum.
- You are passionate about elevating your team, mentoring designers of all levels and providing structured learning opportunities to grow their skills and design expertise.
- Demonstrated consulting expertise with the ability to manage senior stakeholders and navigate complex client environments.
