We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and detail-oriented Grounds Person to join our outdoor operations team. In this role, you will be essential to maintaining the beauty, health, and safety of our clients’ outdoor spaces, estates, and green infrastructures. Working as part of a close-knit, professional crew, you will handle everything from turf management and estate presentation to vital ground support for our aerial teams. Estate & Amenity Maintenance

  • Horticultural Care: Perform precise hedge cutting, pruning, weeding, and planting to ensure flowerbeds, shrubs, and borders look immaculate.
  • Turf Management: Handle routine lawn care including mowing, strimming, aerating, and edging of commercial and residential green spaces.
  • Site Presentation: Clear leaves, litter, and debris across sites, ensuring pathways, driveways, and lawns are left pristine and safe for public use.

Team & Arboricultural Support

  • Ground Crew Operations: Provide vital assistance to climbing teams by managing drop zones, dragging brash, and feeding woodchippers efficiently.
  • Site Preparation: Assist in loading and unloading vehicles with tools, timber, and machinery before and after daily assignments.

Machinery & Safety

  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate a variety of hand tools and powered machinery, including commercial mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers, and hedge cutters.
  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct basic daily checks and cleaning of machinery to ensure everything remains in safe, optimal working order.
  • Health & Safety: Follow all site risk assessments, use correct PPE, and maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your team, and the public.

What We Need from You…

  • Practical Experience: Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or agricultural labor is highly desirable.
  • Machinery Competency: Familiarity with or certifications in using powered garden machinery (e.g., LANTRA or NPTC certificates for strimmers, mowers, or chainsaws are a massive plus).
  • Work Ethic & Physical Fitness: Excellent stamina and physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and active outdoor work throughout the changing seasons.
  • Team Player: A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-moving team environment.
  • Driving License: A valid driving license (ideally with towing capability) to transport team vehicles and trailers between sites is preferred.
