We are looking for a skilled, safety-conscious, and passionate Arborist Climber to join our dedicated team of tree care professionals. In this role, you will be on the front lines of urban forestry, executing high-quality tree maintenance, removals, and canopy management. Key Responsibilities:
- Aerial & Ground Operations
- Precision Climbing: Perform expert climbing, rigging, and aerial tree work (pruning, shaping, crown reduction, and sections dismantle) utilizing modern, safe arboricultural techniques.
- Tree Removal: Safely fell and dismantle trees of varying sizes and complexities, often in confined urban spaces or near delicate property.
- Ground Support & Rigging: Establish complex rigging systems to lower heavy timber safely, and operate ground machinery including woodchippers, stump grinders, and chainsaws.
- Safety & Compliance
- Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough pre-work site inspections and daily hazard assessments to ensure the safety of the crew, the public, and surrounding property.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain climbing gear (LOLER compliance where applicable), chainsaws, and rigging equipment daily to guarantee flawless operation.
- PPE Adherence: Strictly adhere to industry safety standards and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Health & Preservation
- Species Identification & Care: Apply knowledge of tree biology to make precise cuts that promote tree health and minimize the spread of disease.
- Site Restoration: Ensure work sites are left clean, tidy, and safe for clients, removing all debris and processing bi-products efficiently.
What We Need from You:
- Proven Climbing Experience: Demonstrated experience as a competent arborist climber, comfortable working at significant heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Industry Qualifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., NPTC / City & Guilds units for Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross-Cutting, Tree Climbing & Rescue, and Aerial Tree Rigging).
- Rigorous Safety Focus: A deep, uncompromising commitment to health and safety protocols and teamwork.
- Physical Fitness: Excellent physical stamina, strength, and agility required to handle heavy gear and demanding aerial maneuvers daily.
- Driving License: A valid driving license (ideally with towing entitlement/Category BE or pre-1997 grandfather rights) is highly preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: £22,000 – £27,000 per annum (depending on experience)
