Inclusion Assistant - Literacy and Numeracy Intervention in Norwich

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Working closely with students, teachers and the SEND and Inclusion Team, you will deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions that build confidence, develop key skills and improve outcomes for learners who require additional support.

The Role

As an Inclusion Assistant, you will

• Deliver planned literacy and numeracy intervention programmes to individuals and small groups.
• Support students with varying learning needs, helping them to develop essential English and mathematics skills.
• Monitor, record and evaluate student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and the Inclusion Team.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and able to succeed.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, parents and external agencies where appropriate.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and resilience in their learning.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Has experience of working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
• Has strong literacy and numeracy skills and a good standard of education.
• Is patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with young people.
• Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Is committed to inclusion and believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
• Can work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Experience of delivering intervention programmes or supporting students with SEND, English as an Additional Language (EAL), or those requiring additional academic support would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
