The Senior QC Inspector (Electrical) is responsible for performing advanced inspection and electrical testing activities across all stages of production, while providing technical leadership and quality oversight within the QC and Pressure Testing functions.

The role supports day to day quality operations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with internal standards, client requirements, and ISO quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing inspections across all stages of production to ensure compliance with drawings, build instructions, work packs, and customer specifications.
  • Conducting advanced electrical testing including HV AC & DC test sets, signal testing (RS232, Coax & Ethernet), bench testing, hyperbaric pressure testing, and precision measurement activities.
  • Verifying completed components meet defined quality standards prior to release.
  • Raising, investigating, coordinating, and supporting the timely close-out of internal, supplier, and client NCRs within the Quality Management System.
  • Supporting effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Carrying out in-process checks and balances on current and new processes and practices.
  • Monitoring and constructively challenging adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Supporting the creation, revision, and continuous improvement of SOPs.
  • Assisting in preparation for and participation in internal, client, and ISO audits (ISO 9001 & ISO 14001).
  • Supporting alignment of QC and Pressure Testing activities with production goals.
  • Mentoring and guiding QC Technicians, supporting competency development through QC matrices.

Promoting safe working practices and ensuring understanding of hazards, risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH requirements.

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and actively applying 5S and LEAN principles across all work areas.
  • Assisting in monitoring and reporting against defined quality objectives and KPIs.

Skills

  • High attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, schematics, and client specifications.
  • Proven experience in electrical QC within a manufacturing environment.
  • Competent in the use of HV AC & DC test sets, signal testing equipment (RS232, Coax & Ethernet), hyperbaric pressure testing, and precision measurement tools.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and NCR processes.
  • Audit exposure (internal and/or external).
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard QHSE requirements.
  • Experience applying LEAN principles and 5S methodologies.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to mentor, support, and develop technicians.
  • Ability to challenge procedures and processes constructively.
