Currently seeking an experienced Project Applications Engineer on a contract basis for a global drilling and well services company.
It is an ongoing contract position that will be offered on a PAYE basis.
Supporting a busy client facing drilling project, the Project Applications Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Developing and modifying engineering designs and technical solutions to meet customer and project requirements.
- Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings using Auto CAD, Autodesk Inventor, and/or Solid Works.
- Acting as a technical interface between engineering, sales, project management, and operations to ensure seamless project integration.
- Supporting the full project lifecycle β from concept design and tender support through to execution and handover.
- Providing technical input into proposals, specifications, and design reviews.
- Assisting with product/application selection, configuration, and customisation for customer-specific applications.
- Ensuring designs comply with industry standards, company procedures, and quality requirements.
- Supporting customers with technical documentation, presentations, and application guidance.
Experience/Qualifications
- A degree or HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline) is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly within the North Sea Oil & Gas industry, is essential.
- Proven experience in an engineering design or applications engineering role is essential.
- Experience with Auto CAD, Autodesk Inventor and/or Solid Works is essential.
- Experience in producing manufacturing-ready drawings and technical documentation is essential.
- Applicants should have demonstrable knowledge of project integration, including collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Applicants should have experience of interpreting customer requirements and translating them into practical engineering solutions.
- Applicants should have a good awareness of engineering change management and design control processes.
