Currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer on a permanent staff basis for a modular solutions specialist based in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. The Electrical Project Engineer will work closely with a team of Project Engineers and Design Engineers to assist with planning, design, drawing packages, detail project documentation, and technical assistance.

The Electrical Project Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Product Design: Working individually and as part of a team designing mainly containerised modular solutions and skid systems suited for both safe and hazardous areas.
  • Drawings: Production and engineering drawings including block diagrams, schematic diagrams, interconnection diagrams, termination diagrams, cable schedules and data sheets. The drawing package shall be inclusive of fire and gas systems.
  • Project Support: Collaborating with Project Engineers and Design Engineers to support the planning and execution of electrical projects. Taking ownership of communications and being client facing in relation to any project challenges that may arise.
  • Installation and Testing: Assisting in the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment in compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Documentation: Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and troubleshooting electrical issues during project implementation and providing effective solutions.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to safety guidelines and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Material Management: Assisting in managing project materials, inventory, and procurement to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance: Participating in quality assurance processes to verify that electrical systems meet project specifications and performance standards.
  • Coordination: Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progress.
  • On-site Support: Providing on-site support during project execution, including system checks and problem resolution.
  • Training and Development: Staying updated on industry trends and advancements, seeking continuous improvement in technical skills and knowledge.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar Electrical Project Engineer type role, directly within an Oil & Gas Service company/manufacturing type environment, is essential.
  • Electrical project engineering and design experience is essential.
  • Previous experience with containerised/modular solutions would be preferred.
  • Electrical design experience with pressurised cabins would be preferred.
  • Applicants should be proficient with electrical system installation, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Applicants should be familiar with electrical codes, regulations and industry standards.
