Senior Commercial Advisor supporting UK midstream gas assets, providing commercial expertise across a portfolio of infrastructure and agreements. The role focuses on the commercial operations management of key agreements, supporting the negotiation and execution of new commercial arrangements, and working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met accurately and on time across live operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing commercial operations management of key agreements, including TPAs, CTIAs, land leases, service agreements, proximity and crossing agreements, and pigging agreements.
  • Ensuring contractual obligations are performed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Liaising with external counterparties, including upstream shippers, downstream infrastructure owners, the network operator, and the energy regulator.
  • Supporting the framing, negotiation, and execution of new commercial agreements.
  • Supporting new shippers prior to start-up to ensure day-to-day commercial operations run smoothly from commencement.
  • Supporting the interface relating to the operation of third-party pipeline and transportation facilities.
  • Liaising with internal and external legal teams on contract amendments and ad hoc commercial matters.
  • Coordinating with technical and operational teams, including pipelines, metering, and control room functions, to ensure commercial operations are carried out in line with contractual requirements and business needs.
  • Supporting joint venture management activities associated with midstream assets.
  • Supporting gas operations matters across onshore gas terminal facilities, including outages, gas specification issues, and process modelling.
  • Supporting the Hydrocarbon Allocations Team to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial principles.
  • Supporting metering activities, including audit issues and dispensations relating to gas quality and metering equipment.
  • Supporting the management and resolution of commercial disputes.
  • Participating in the commercial operations on-call rota.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Legal, Business, or Engineering.
  • Commercial experience within the UK Continental Shelf oil and gas industry, preferably within the midstream sector.
  • Understanding of the mechanics of commercial agreements, including TPAs, proximity agreements, leases, service agreements, and decommissioning agreements.
  • Knowledge of UK Continental Shelf standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to recognise and manage commercial, operational, and financial risk.
  • Knowledge of upstream operations is desirable, including gas metering, gas quality specification issues, and related dispensations.
  • Understanding of the principles of gas metering, allocation, attribution, and nomination.
