Currently recruiting for an experienced Data Processor - 3D Laser Scanning on a permanent staff basis for an engineering company based in central Aberdeen. The individual will be responsible for the processing of 3D laser scan point cloud data that has been captured onsite (both onshore and offshore facilities), taking the data from raw files through to final client delivery. You will contribute significantly to the growth and scaling of the company’s digital twin software platform across international onshore and offshore industrial process plants in the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Thermal, Petrochemical and Renewable sectors.
Reporting to the Digital Assets Manager, the Data Processor will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Understanding project requirements in line with client scope of work.
- Receiving and archiving the raw scan data in line with company procedures.
- Creating and reviewing project planners in line with client delivery expectations.
- Correctly identify required digital resources to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
- Managing multiple work scopes across various clients in a timely manner.
- Assisting in identifying potential workflow improvements to highlight marginal gains.
- Consolidating and registering onsite scan data using company internal software.
- Undertaking QA/QC of 3D Point Cloud and implementing control tools to achieve specified tolerances.
- Preparing and issuing required client deliverables.
- Responding to and troubleshooting client queries.
- Publishing processed data into company’s cloud-based platform.
- Creating site maps for use on digital twin.

- Data management to ensure that the company storage network is effectively managed.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
- A good understanding of Microsoft packages, with experience in Excel, is essential.
- Experience in the Autodesk platform (AutoCAD, ReCap, etc) would be preferred.
- Experience with laser scan processing software (Leica Register360, Aveva Point Cloud Manager) would be preferred.
