We perform research, mathematical modeling, software development and design to manage risks to life safety in military platforms and installations, ships and submarines, critical infrastructure, tall buildings, public facilities, industrial and petrochemical plants and automotive and airborne vehicles. The Role

We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Structures team within the Applied Science practice in our Warrington office. Our projects often include aspects such as structural dynamics, seismic engineering, blast assessments, fire modelling, non-linear response, fatigue and fracture analyses and we use a combination of specialist software packages and first principles to tackle these.

The ideal candidate will be chartered, or nearing chartership, with a strong grasp of engineering principles and a passion for tackling complex challenges. The position involves managing and delivering projects, offering technical guidance to junior team members, and maintaining active engagement with clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsibilities will include managing and delivering projects, engaging with clients, and providing oversight and support to junior staff.
  • The role involves engaging with clients and helping to prepare project proposals as part of the office business development activity.
  • You will develop specialist structural expertise in areas which could include seismic analysis, blast and explosion response, fatigue and failure assessment, probabilistic analyses etc. Prior experience in coding and/or numerical simulation (FEA or CFD) would be advantageous.

What You’ll Bring

  • Able to demonstrate experience in solving complex problems and motivated to take the next step in your career by leading projects.
  • Eligible to obtain UK security clearance.
  • Chartered, or planning to submit for professional review within the next year (ICE, IStructE, IMechE, etc.).
  • Seismic engineering and/or dynamic analysis experience.
  • Experience in the Defence and/or Nuclear sectors is advantageous.
  • Approximately 5-8 years of relevant industrial experience, or less with related PhD.
  • Master's degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering.
