We are looking for an exceptional Teaching Assistant at Thorns Primary School who can:
- Contribute to our commitment that at Thorns, children ACHIEVE.
- Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils.
- Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
- Support pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement.
- Support learning in KS1 and/or KS2.
- Teach phonics (Little Wandle training will be provided).
- Support a range of year groups, including supporting Y6 with SATs preparation if needed.
- Supervise a whole class for periods of time (as required by SLT but not regularly).
- Attend to pupils’ personal care including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and eating as well as help with social, emotional, welfare, and health matters in close consultation with the class teacher and Inclusion Lead.
- Physically assist pupils in activities which may involve lifting, wheelchairs, or other support.
