THE ROLE
You will be mentored and taught by an experienced heat pump engineer, to become a trusted technical support engineer. You will be responding to customers who have questions and queries around heat pumps, including commissioning support, fault diagnostics, repairs and breakdowns relating to flow rates, temperature, controls or wiring. You will have usage of real‑life units rigged up in the office to assist with providing the right support and technical information, access to user manuals and all available software to run your own diagnostic testing. Some site visits and calls are required to assist customers on‑site for complex breakdowns once fully trained, on a mix of residential and commercial projects.
THE PERSON
Existing plumbing, heating or heat pumps engineer keen to transition into the office and become a heat pump expert. Qualified mechanical engineer, with a degree and looking to move into a technical role in heat pumps. Excellent communication skills as you will be spending large parts of your day on the phone or on video calls with customers. A clear and confident phone manner and approach is vital, plus liaising via email with concise technical information. Full driving licence is preferred, due to travel to sites as required.
THE PACKAGE
For heating or heat pump engineers, a basic salary of c£40-45k can be offered. For graduate engineers, in the c£30-35k bracket pending on career experience. A car or allowance could be offered in the future if travel is a regular feature of the job. Full benefits package to include 25 days holiday.
THE LOCATION
Based in the office near to Reading. Once trained, some home working will be offered.
