Administration Assistant

Location: Thornhill Academy

Salary: Grade 3 (NJC scale points 5 - 6) £22,926.30 - £23,290.14

Contract and Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, term time plus 5 days, permanent

Start Date: July 2026

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and clerical support across the academy, assisting staff, students, parents and visitors on a daily basis.

  • Managing incoming calls, emails and visitor enquiries
  • Supporting student services and attendance administration
  • Maintaining accurate records and data using Arbor
  • Assisting with school communications and events
  • Providing first aid support to students when required
  • Managing reprographics, post and general office duties
  • Supporting educational visits, trips and academy activities
  • Updating academy systems and website information

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Is confident using ICT systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Has strong communication and customer service skills
  • Can remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Enjoys working with young people and as part of a team
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding

Previous experience in an administrative role is essential, and experience working within a school environment would be advantageous.
