Before & After School Club Supervisor
Location: Thornham St. James C.E. (Controlled) Primary School, Castleton Road, Royton, Oldham OL2 6XT
Contract: Initially for one year with a view to extend, term‑time only.
Working hours: 16.5 per week (Mon‑Friday 7:30‑9:00 am, Mon‑Thursday 3:30‑5:30 pm, Friday 3:30‑4:30 pm)
Grade: 3 (SCP 6‑11)

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic play worker with an NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent qualification to join our well‑established team. The role involves supporting children in the Before and After School Club, supervising and joining in their play. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the club and act as the named person for safeguarding and first aid.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a commitment to our school ethos and values.
- Have a passion for promoting and supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
- Have practical knowledge of child development and child‑related issues.
- Have an awareness of play principles.
- Support the learning and wellbeing of children of different ages across school as required.
- Relate well to both children and adults and work well in a team.
Duties will include planning activities, maintaining records, implementing policies, providing snacks and drinks for children, liaising with parents, and joining in with children’s play.
Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent qualification.
Commitment to safeguarding and first aid responsibilities.

Subject to enhanced DBS checks, a pre‑employment check and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Proof of right to work in the UK and satisfactory references are required.
