Relief Warden
Location: Elizabeth Court, Thorngate Court, Melrose Gardens & Compigne Court
Salary: £14.25 per hour
Contract: Bank Relief, Guaranteed Minimum 40 Hours Per Month

We operate 124 sheltered flats for assisted living, all with 24 hour warden support, and a 44 bed care home offering residential care for frail elderly people and for those living with dementia.
We are now recruiting for a reliable, organised and compassionate Relief Warden to provide cover across our sheltered housing schemes. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines resident support, housing management, administration and building safety responsibilities.
As our Relief Warden you will be responsible for:
- Responding to emergency calls and taking appropriate action.
- Supporting social activities and helping to create a welcoming community environment.
- Conducting health and safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting and smoke alarms.
- Monitoring communal areas and reporting repairs or maintenance issues.
- Managing building security and contractor access.
- Showing vacant accommodation to prospective residents and assisting with lettings enquiries.
- Updating information on digital housing management systems.
- Using smartphones and computers to communicate, record information and complete routine administrative tasks.
- Ensuring compliance with Data Protection and confidentiality requirements.
- Being comfortable using computers, smartphones and digital systems on a daily basis.
- Able to learn and confidently navigate multiple software systems.
- Being friendly, professional and committed to supporting older people to live independently.
- Being flexible and willing to provide cover for annual leave and sickness, sometimes at short notice.
- Having good IT skills, including confidence using digital systems and mobile technology.
- Having experience working in sheltered housing, extra care, housing support or a similar environment.
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a Warden.
