About Us

us Churcher Court is part of Thorngate Churcher Trust, a not-for-profit organisation with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional care. Here, we value every individual both residents and team members, providing training, support and a warm, respectful working environment. We operate 124 sheltered flats for assisted living, all with 24 hour warden support, and a 44 bed care home offering residential care for frail elderly people and for those living with dementia.

About The Role – Care Assistant

As a Care Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily needs, always ensuring dignity, choice and wellbeing are at the heart of everything you do.

  • Helping with personal care, dressing, and meals.
  • Supporting residents to maintain independence and life skills.
  • Taking part in planning and reviewing individual care plans.
  • Encouraging residents to join in with activities and social events.
  • Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment at all times.
  • Keeping accurate records and reporting any concerns to senior staff.

About You

  • Caring and patient, with good communication skills.
  • Clean and smart in appearance, with a polite and reliable approach.
  • Able to work well in a team but also confident using your own initiative.
  • Flexible to cover shifts, including weekends, and occasionally able to work at short notice.
  • Motivated to learn, with a willingness to undertake training.

It Would Be Great If You Had

  • An NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or the willingness to work towards it).
  • Some experience of caring for or supporting older people.
  • A good sense of humour and self-confidence in your role.
