Housekeeping Manager Location: Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 3BE Salary: Β£16.21 per hour Benefits! Contract: Full time, Permanent – 37.5 hours per week Hours: 8.00am – 4.00pm, five days out of seven (including some required weekends). Russell Churcher Court is part of Thorngate Churcher Trust, a not-for-profit organisation with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional care. We operate 124 sheltered flats for assisted living, all with 24 hour warden support, and a 44 bed care home offering residential care for frail elderly people and for those living with dementia. We are now recruiting for a Housekeeping Manager to take responsibility for managing the housekeeping and laundry services within the home, leading a dedicated housekeeping team! You will ensure robust infection control practices, and work closely with residents, families and colleagues to create a clean, safe and homely living environment. This is very much a hands-on management role, requiring excellent organisational skills, strong leadership and a compassionate approach. As our Housekeeping Manager, you will: * Lead and supervise the housekeeping and laundry team, ensuring high cleaning standards across the home. * Plan staff rotas, work schedules and ensure consistent cover across weekdays and weekends. * Oversee infection control practices, ensuring compliance with CQC, COSHH and Health & Safety requirements. * Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and ensure equipment is serviced and safe to use. * Liaise with residents and colleagues to ensure housekeeping services meet their needs. * Ensure resident rooms, furniture and communal areas are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times. * Manage laundry services to a high standard. * Keep accurate digital and written records and report any incidents, defects or safeguarding concerns. * Organise deep cleans and support daily operational meetings. * Carry out any other reasonable duties as required. In order to be successful in this role you must have / be: * Knowledge of hygiene, COSHH and infection control procedures. * Proven experience supervising or managing staff in a similar environment. * Smart, professional appearance. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong interpersonal skills and confidence liaising with residents, families, colleagues and suppliers. * Good level of education, including Maths and English. * Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload under pressure. * High level of accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality. * Strong organisational, administrative and time-management skills. * Intermediate to advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. * Able to work unsupervised and handle routine administrative duties. * Positive, self-motivated, flexible and proactive approach. * Commitment to safeguarding residents and promoting their wellbeing. * Able to work shifts, including weekends. It would be great if you had: * Infection control qualifications or training. * Experience working within a care home or regulated environment. * Understanding of CQC standards and other regulatory frameworks. * Experience using multiple software systems, including electronic care and medication systems.
