Contract: 37.5 hours per week (worked across a 7-day rota), Full time, Permanent Join Our Team and Make a Difference Every Day Thorngate Churcher Trust is seeking an experienced and passionate Catering Manager to lead our catering services at us Churcher Court.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled catering professional who enjoys creating nutritious, high-quality meals while leading and developing a dedicated kitchen team within a caring residential environment.

As Catering Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing and dining experience of our residents by ensuring meals are prepared to the highest standards, maintaining excellent food safety practices, and managing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

  • About the Role Reporting to the Registered Care Home Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Preparing, cooking and serving food to the highest standards.
  • Planning varied and nutritious menus on a minimum four-week cycle.
  • Managing kitchen staff, rotas, performance, training and development.
  • Maintaining food, equipment and staffing budgets.
  • Ordering and controlling food stock levels.
  • Ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Maintaining records and monitoring systems to support internal and external inspections.
  • Organising special catering events, functions and lunch clubs.
  • Working closely with residents, families, colleagues and suppliers to deliver an excellent catering service.
  • Identifying improvements and making recommendations to support future kitchen and catering requirements. About You In order to be successful in this role you must have:
  • Previous experience in a similar catering management role.
  • 706/1 & 706/2 Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience managing and supervising staff.
  • Experience of menu planning, including special dietary requirements.
  • Experience working within a budget.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and workload management abilities.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • A professional, approachable and caring manner.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding service to residents and colleagues.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends. It would be great if you had:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Supervisory Management or willingness to undertake training.
  • Experience working with older people.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and equipment servicing.
