Thorn SDS is a niche Managed Service Provider, committed to enabling technology organisations and professionals to thrive within the Space, Defence and Security sectors. We are seeking a number of experienced technical professionals to support a large-scale enterprise transformation programme delivering multiple high-priority EPICs. These roles will contribute to the design, build, testing, and delivery of critical network and platform capabilities over an initial delivery phase (initially 1 year) with potential extension.
Roles Required:
- Technical Architect (x2)
- Technical Engineer (x2)
- Scrum Master (x2)
- Tester / Quality Engineer (x2)
- Security Architect
- Service Architect
Programme Overview:
Successful candidates will support multiple EPICs, including:
- Inter-operable DNS
- Service Gateway
- Zero Trust Networks (including F5 BIG-IP)
- Zone Management
Key Responsibilities (Role-Dependent):
Depending on role and experience, responsibilities may include:
- Designing and documenting enterprise-grade technical solutions
- Implementing, configuring, and supporting infrastructure and network platforms
- Providing technical leadership and design assurance across multiple workstreams
- Facilitating Agile delivery and supporting cross-functional teams
- Performing functional, integration, and quality testing
- Ensuring solutions align with security, service, and operational standards
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, security, and delivery stakeholders
Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in a secure, defence, or similarly regulated environment
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: architecture, engineering, Agile delivery, testing, security, or service design
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, networking, and platform services
- Familiarity with DNS, gateways, network security, or Zero Trust concepts
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work across multiple EPICs in a complex delivery environment
Desirable Experience:
- Enterprise or solution architecture
- Network and security technologies (e.g. F5 BIG-IP)
- Cloud, hybrid, or large on-premise environments
- Automation, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code
- Service transition and operational readiness
