Salary Scale: 3 points 5-6 £19,220-£19,525 (pro rata actual salary)

Hours & Working Pattern: 32.50 Hours per week (Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm with a half hour break) Term Time only

Contract: Fixed term for 1 year in the first instance

Responsibilities:

  • The Headteacher and Governors are looking to appoint an exceptional and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support the complex teaching and learning needs of 2 KS1 children.
  • These children require a high level of support for communication and language as well as cognition and learning.
  • You will need to be adaptable and be able to amend lesson plans and prepare resources which will enable the children to succeed at all levels.
  • As well as supporting the children in class and at lunch-time, you will also be delivering one-to-one and small group interventions that will enable the children to fulfil their full potential, as directed by the class teacher.
  • Providing a positive, calm, motivational, flexible, and creative environment, you will be patient, sensitive, able to comfort children when and where necessary, and support the inclusive nature of the school.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should possess a high standard of spoken and written English and have GCSE English and Maths (A-C grades or equivalent).
  • Previous experience of running interventions or knowledge of Special Educational Needs pupils would be an advantage.
