Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and reliable cleaner who takes great pride in their work.
You will need to be a good team worker with good organisational skills.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the school building is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised each day for children and staff, paying particular attention to touch points such as desks, door handles, taps, etc.
- Undertake cleaning tasks including washing of walls, furniture and fittings, sweeping, hoovering, floor buffing, toilet cleaning, emptying and cleaning of waste receptacles, and fixtures and fittings.
- Carry out all cleaning tasks to the required standards.
- Use all equipment, machinery and cleaning materials effectively, efficiently and in accordance with safe working practices.
- Report any faults with equipment, machinery or the building to the caretaker, describing fully the nature of the faults.
- Participate in any required staff training programmes and carry out all duties in a responsible manner with due regard to the School’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Maintain good working relationships with staff; deal with minor queries or complaints, and relay significant staff issues to the caretaker for further action.
- Undertake such other duties related to the work of the section appropriate to the post, as may be required.
